Decide which profile people should be able to find.
Marketplace accounts can represent an individual performer, a group, or a host. Gigditty links searches, messages, bookings, ratings, profile media, and reputation to the owner you choose.
Each owner can only have one Marketplace account. If your user profile, group, or host already has one, manage it from Marketplace / Accounts instead of creating a duplicate.
The setup path from new to live.
- Open Marketplace, then Accounts, then New Marketplace Account.
- Choose the person, group, or host profile that people should be able to find.
- Set the base city, state, or ZIP and choose a travel radius.
- Add at least one specialty so the right people can find the profile.
- Choose booking preferences, gig-opening availability, and who can find the profile.
- Review your choices and turn on the Marketplace profile.
- Add profile media, including audio and video, from the profile preview or Profile screen.
These choices shape the Marketplace profile.
| Input | What it means |
|---|---|
| Terms acknowledgement | The setup starts with a confirmation step. You cannot continue until you acknowledge the Marketplace terms. |
| Profile owner | Choose whether the Marketplace profile represents you, a group, or a host. Gigditty only shows profiles that can be added and do not already have a Marketplace profile. |
| Base location | Required. Choose a city, state, or ZIP instead of a specific address. This location appears on the Marketplace profile and helps Gigditty find nearby opportunities. |
| Travel radius | Shows how far you are willing to travel. You can set a distance limit or choose no limit. |
| Specialties | Required. Add at least one and up to ten specialties. These help people find you when they search for the kind of work you do. |
| Minimum reputation | Optional. When set, only people or businesses with enough Gigditty reputation can find and invite this profile. |
| Available gig openings | Available for user and group Marketplace profiles with a base location. When turned on, the profile can see published gig openings that may be a fit. |
| Who can find it | Choose who can find the profile: users, groups, hosts, or a combination. To fully hide the profile, turn the Marketplace profile off. |
Add audio and video after the account exists.
Marketplace setup turns on how the profile appears in searches. The richer public profile is managed from the profile preview or the Profile screen, where profile picture, bio, specialties, and media can be edited.
| Input | What it means |
|---|---|
| Profile picture | Can be updated for user, group, and host profiles. You can choose how the picture is centered so it looks right in Marketplace previews. |
| Bio or description | Shown on the public Marketplace profile so people understand who you are and what you offer. |
| Audio upload | Available for user and group profiles. Upload an audio sample so people can listen when they visit the profile. |
| Video upload | Available for user and group profiles. Upload a short video so people can watch it from the profile or Marketplace preview. |
| Host media | Host Marketplace profiles can update profile picture, description, and specialties. The current audio and video upload controls are for user and group profiles. |
Audio and video uploaded to user or group profiles are public profile media. The app describes them as viewable by anyone who visits the profile, and Marketplace results can include playback links when media exists.
How a live profile gets found.
1. Turning on the profile lets people find it
After setup, the Marketplace profile is turned on. Gigditty uses your location, travel distance, visibility choices, reputation preference, and opening preference to decide where it can appear.
2. Location keeps results relevant
Marketplace searches need a base location. Gigditty compares where someone is searching with how far you are willing to travel.
3. Specialties help people find you
Specialties help Gigditty understand what you do. Related words can still help you appear in the right searches.
4. Visibility and reputation choices narrow the audience
Gigditty checks who you said can find the profile. If you set a minimum reputation, the person or business searching needs to meet it.
5. Search results include profile details
When a profile appears in Marketplace results, people can see helpful details like name, profile photo, bio, specialties, reputation, and audio or video when you have added media.
6. Gig openings are suggested separately
For user and group Marketplace profiles with gig openings turned on, Gigditty can also show published openings that fit your location, specialties, pay range, and availability.
Marketplace accounts can be tuned over time.
From Marketplace / Accounts, you can manage whether the profile is on, its base location, travel distance, gig-opening availability, minimum reputation, and who can find it. You can also update the owner profile preview with a fresh picture, bio, specialties, and supported media.
Keep specialties current. They are one of the main ways Gigditty connects user and group profiles with Marketplace searches and published gig openings.
